This museum features telephone equipment and belongings dating back to 1895, including switchboards, wooden conduits, telephone directories, plus many other communication items.
10:30am - The Pump House Center for the Arts
Housed in an 1882 restored Victorian Gothic building once used as the city’s water pump station. The Pump House Art Gallery has wonderful displays of various types of artwork.
11:30am - Lunch in Yoctangee Park
Walk along the historic timeline of Chillicothe while enjoying the beautiful surroundings in Yoctangee Park. Home to several landscaped Bicentennial monuments and gardens. Lunch will be served in an informal setting, offering each visitor time to relax. (Seasonal)
12:30pm - First Capital District
Enjoy a visit to our renovated downtown area filled with many charming and quaint shops. This is a great opportunity to purchase that perfect souvenir.
1:30pm - Walking Tour of Caldwell, Fifth and Paint Streets
Stroll along the tree-lined streets and view the lovely, historic homes constructed between 1845 and 1875. Various styles include Greek Revival, Queen Anne, Victorian, German Brick, and Craftsman. This Tour can also be a driving tour if required.
2:30pm - Ross County Heritage Center
Explore the history of Chillicothe and Ross County as well as find many unique items from yesterday. The Heritage Center consists of three buildings which include the Ross County Museum, The Franklin House and the Knoles Log House.
3:45pm - Lucy Webb Hayes Heritage Center
This restored 1831 home is the birth place of Lucy Webb Hayes, wife of the 19th President of the United States. Lucy Hayes is considered to be the first, First Lady.
4:15pm - The Majestic Theatre
Built in 1853 by the Masonic Lodge and originally known as the Masonic Opera House. The Majestic Theatre is the oldest continuously operating theatre in the United States.
