Start your adventurous day hiking nature’s finest forest at the Cave Canyon Nature Preserves. Visit the museum & watch the orientation slide presentation before choosing from one of three self guided trails such as the Valley of the Ancients, Etawah Woods Loop trail or the Big Beech Loop trail. We’ll let you decide! Next, take to the water and enjoy your afternoon canoeing 5 miles down scenic Paint Creek at the Waters Edge Canoe Livery or the Paint Creek Rental. Test your skills through easy going pools, shallow riffles, rocks and logs along the way. Enjoy a packed lunch along the banks or in your canoe. Next, visit the Hopewell Culture Natural Historical Park and learn the cultures of the Hopewell Indians that lived between 200 BC and 500 AD with exhibits, mounds, video of the legacy mound builders and take home a souvenir from the gift shop. Then, it’s off to the ball diamond for an evening of baseball at its best with the Chillicothe Paints at the V.A. Memorial Stadium. Friday nights after the game, view the wonderful display of fireworks held at the stadium.
