2-Day Vacation Package
Day 1: Upon arrival to our town, visit the James M. Thomas Telephone Museum, featuring switchboards and telephone equipment dating back to the late 1800’s. Next, stroll through the Pump House Center for the Arts, displaying various art and exhibits located in the beautiful Yoctangee park. View this 1182 restored Victorian Gothic building once used as the city’s water supply station. Tour the Majestic Theatre, once known as the Masonic Opera House and the oldest operating theatre in the United States. Lastly, enjoy a visit back in time at the Lucy Webb Hayes Heritage Center, restored home and birthplace of the wife of the 19th President of the United States. Take in dinner at one of our local restaurants such as Old Canal Smokehouse, Dock at Water, 17 East or Dakotas.
Day 2: Start your day with a visit to the Adena Mansion and Gardens, home of Thomas Worthington, Ohio’s sixth governor. Capture the early days of life lived in the nineteenth century with exhibits, museums, and a tour of the historic mansion. Enjoy lunch at one of our downtown eateries such as Grinders, Carl’s Townhouse or Mona Lisa Café. Treat yourself with a visit to the Ross County Heritage Center, rich in history with unique items and displays of the past. Enjoy a driving tour of our historic downtown with local historian, Kevin Coleman, viewing the historical sites of our first capital. Set aside time to visit our quaint gift shops located in our downtown historic district with treasures of yesterday and today.
